In the future, will humans ever transform into cyborgs?

Yes, we will, but it will happen a lot sooner than we think. Perhaps possible within our lifetime.

Currently we have the technology to create prosthetic hands and legs for people who are disabled; improve some form of hearing, eyesight, create smartwatch, and create custom profiles with preferences for individuals over the web.

Elon Musk and scientists already claim that we are cyborgs currently because we spend most of our time and lives in the digital world with our own avatars and profile in social medias, games, specially due to smartphones/smartwatch, and other devices that constantly have our data stored in cloud computing servers. This is going to grow as technology becomes more accessible and internet of things (IoT) will merge with our synthetic body as it becomes more and more feasible in the public, in the coming centuries.

Elon Musk’s company Neuralink is already developing a chip to enhance our biological selves by merging with machines by connecting our eyes and brains to the internet wirelessly. This idea will grow in the coming decades unto the next century.

Scientists have also invented Bionic Eyes under careful consideration.

Easily one of the most futuristic cures for vision loss is the bionic eye. Approved in 2013 by the US FDA, the prosthetic eye is a revolutionary new device that can restore limited sight to those who have total blindness.

In the coming decades, we will be able to create recreate eye tissues and many other organs of our bodies by mapping and reprogramming cells; this will grow necessary organs and tissues for further use in transplantation and regenerative medicine. In the next 140 years, this will allow us to get rid of 90% of all known common diseases and our body parts will heal due to advanced nanotechnology growth in medicine.

Neurotechnology is the future. The ability to upload mind/consciousness into the computer where all of our thoughts and memory will be stored digitally will occur in the 22nd century.

3D PRINTING is the Future

In a couple of decades to a century, their will come a time when we will be able to completely recreate organs as well as any digital aesthetic upgrades of our body parts. However certain wearable tech devices and digital body implants in 50 years is likely possible containing electrical and mechanical bodily functions which will give us peak enhanced abilities like a cyborg.

Operational exoskeleton-suits or similar mechanical body upgrades could be a reality in military use which will give us enhanced superhuman abilities in 35–100 years. Nanotechnology will shape the future completely in science and medical department.

Augmented Reality implants:

Google and other Big Tech companies are set to develop advanced augmented reality in 2–5 decades that will display information in which ever direction your looking at which will create a world of trouble for privacy but it will increase technological progression because the internet will be available and controllable by the tip of your eye and accessible anywhere in the world.

Our biological evolution will soon stop because scientists suggest that, we will start to upload our consciousness in digital world starting in 2070’s however not looking optimistically (with the pacing of technology), we will definitely be able to upload our consciousness within the next 200 years for sure.

In the next 2–4 centuries all of our memories will be accessible via storage servers, will be able to create artificial DNA’s, and genetic enhancements with mixture of mechanical parts will be available.

So in reality, with the progression of current technology, a few percentage of human population would have fully operational mechanical body function in less than 60 years but due to the law and policy implications of human and machine merging ethical guidelines, it might take time to become mainstream and fully acceptable by the mass public.

The future holds exciting possibilities.
