Is it likely there are multiple alien civilizations all over the universe?
It could be a possibility that an alien civilizations exist and are common compared to the size of the universe. there are 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 planets in our observable Universe, and that’s only counting planets that are orbiting stars.
We have so far found 5,000 exoplanets within the last 15 years and the list is growing.
If we factor in the drake equation, founded in 1960’s, which tells us the probability of finding alien life and advanced civilizations in the universe:
This equation states there are 1000–50,000,000 planets within Milky Way galaxy alone that have had civilizations since the start of Big Bang.
If this is true, life could be common all over the universe and within galaxies.
Study published by the Astrophysical Journal states that their are 36 active intelligent civilizations that exist within our Milky Way Galaxy, due to calculating the drake equation with modern technology. “Astrobiological Copernican Strong limit is that life must form between 4.5 to 5.5 billion years, as on Earth, while the weak limit is that a planet takes at least 4 billion years to form life, but it can form anytime after that”, the researchers said. The research is done within 7,000 lightyears because our lifespan of a civilization is only 2,000–6,000 years old which means ours is about to end soon due to the great filter, hence, why life is soo rare gives us the chance calculate the drake equation.
- It takes many millions to billions of years for complex lifeforms to emerge if the planet is in the habitable (Goldilocks) zone. It becomes even more rare due to millions of years for lifeforms to become intelligent.
- It takes light thousands to perhaps millions even billions of years to reach one another to communicate with other civilizations. Which is why communication is soo rare with civilizations.
- The Fermi paradox is civilizations greatest demise when it comes to sentient life advancing into type 3 civilization.
We need more time for intelligent life to emerge within our own galaxy. Life could be in the form of artificial intelligence. We could potentially be the only intelligent life in our galaxy as of currently or be home to hundreds or thousands of worlds but intelligent life is very rare within that has not gone through extinction level event.
It took our civilization 12,000 years to reach from Stone Age to current 0.7 on the Kardashev scale because of advancements in technology. Intelligent Life is very, very, rare in the universe and valuable which is why it is soo difficult to detect them. The timeframe for intelligent civilization’s to form is very little. Specially since we started looking for alien lifeforms with our signals for only 60 years.
In my opinion, I think there are anywhere from 1000–50,000 planets that have had life in our galaxy but. Intelligent alien civilizations are anywhere from 20–2,000 within every galaxy since start of big bang. However due to Fermi Paradox, it is every difficult for an alien civilization to travel intergalactically before destroying itself. The distances are soo vast that it takes thousands or perhaps millions of years for a civilizations to develop and become a type 3 civilization. Life would certainly emerge into artificial intelligence by then and do not care about organic life altogether.
